Alexander Alekhine va fer moltes sessions de partides simultí nies per tot el Món, en les quals hi van passar moltes anècdotes.

En una d’aquestes exhibicions, va arribar Alekhine a un dels taulers i va veure al seu rival molt cofoi i feliíç. Aquest jugador li va dir triomfalment: – Mestre, li faig mat en 3 jugades!. Al que un tranquil Alekhine va replicar: – Té raó, però no s’entusiasmi massa, perquè em toca jugar a mi i li faig mat en dues jugades.
